Jolene and Paul – fun filled beach wedding
Jolene and Paul created a fun filled beach wedding on an idyllic day along the Natal north coast. When it came time to plan for their nuptials, it was a fairly easy choice of selecting the north coast, and the wonderful Canelands Beach Club as their wedding venue. They felt that it provided them with the perfect setting on the beach front.
This area seemed like the right location as they both love the great outdoors and beach life, and still have their family residing in Durban. Above all, the couple feel that they are still truly South African at heart, even though they have been living abroad for a long time.
The wedding date they selected was in March. This is usually a hot and humid time of year in this area, but fortunately they were blessed with the most pristine day and very little humidity. Most of the wedding guests travelled from far and wide to celebrate with them. As a result many guests made a holiday out of the trip and enjoyed it to the full, including all the activities that Jolene and Paul had arranged. Another one of the activities was a long overdue holiday to game reserves in KwaZulu Natal for some close family time.
Jolene and her bridesmaids spent the morning with the fabulous make up artist, Ashton. The bride wore a dreamy figure hugging lace dress accessorised with a head band of lilac, purple, green and white flowers. And she had a loose bouquet of roses and lisianthus tied with lilac ribbon which completed the ravishing ensemble. Meanwhile the flower girl wore a gorgeous white dress with silver trim. In addition she wore a rose garland in her hair that suited her perfectly.
Jolene’s bridesmaid wore dresses that added a bold colour of jade green to create a stunning bridal party. Furthermore her father looked dashing in tawny coloured trousers, white shirt and green bowtie. And he ensured that the bridal party arrived at the ceremony looking radiant and simply elegant. Whilst the girls were getting ready Paul and the guys spent the morning enjoying the balmy weather and having fun at the poolside.
Jolene and Paul opted for a simple ceremony on the beach. The only decoration being a simple bamboo archway adorned with lush and beautiful greenery. This complimented the beach setting by introducing a tropical feel to the wedding. Another unique and fun touch was added by bringing in beach balls for “confetti” . This brought lots of laughter and playfulness after the ceremony.
Fiona, the marriage official conducted a really beautiful ceremony. Which Jolene and Paul personalised by adding their own words and meaningful touches.
The photographer Barry Bowditch was on hand with his team. Consequently he was able to ensure that the special moments of the day were captured beautifully in the photographs. Most noteworthy, Shaun from Active Audio did an outstanding job as the DJ that evening. He had the wedding guests up and partying away!
Jolene chose a colour scheme of purple and lush green for the overall wedding look. It was cheerful and colourful and blended all the elements together perfectly. As the couple wanted to kept the table décor really simple. They choose to place a selection of succulents in lovely plant holders. Some guests later received these as keepsakes. These therefore would serve as a lovely reminder of a perfectly joyful day.
This couple were looking for a fun and relaxed party atmosphere, and a memorable day with friends and family. We have no doubt that this wedding ticked all the boxes for their requirements.
Suffice to say Jolene and Paul, we loved being part of your wedding day, despite the fact that it was conducted from afar. So many congratulations to you both. May your marriage be filled with happiness and laughter.
