Founder and Director recognised the need for a flexible, creative, and personalised wedding consultancy covering many regions within South Africa. Considering getting married abroad is a daunting task even for the most organised of people, and she wanted to establish a company that would be able to provide clients with excellent local knowledge, friendly service and the most cost effective solution.
She therefore established Timeless Weddings Company in 2002 with her partner in South Africa Noreen Swartz.
Karen is based in the UK and liaises with Timeless Wedding Company European clients and offering that one to one contact, along with the ability to design weddings in unique and beautiful locations Having travelled extensively throughout the world, she is sympathetic to clients needs and well versed in what people are looking for when selecting a long haul destination - not only for their Big Day, but also as a tourist to a new country. She recognised that there are growing numbers of ex-Africans who still want to get married in the country of their "roots", as well as adventurous and discerning worldwide clients wanting to discover and partake in the wonders that Africa has to offer.
Karen is a former IT consultant and project manager with a strong financial background, and brings to the business her organisational skills and expertise in project management. This means she ensures that clients are kept happy and well informed, deadlines are met, and budgets are adhered to - and that all wedding "projects" are running smoothly. Also having interior design qualifications, has meant that she is able to assist client with wedding design and decor, ensuring that each wedding she works on makes a unique and personal statement.
Noreen Swartz - Your contact in South Africa
Co-founder and Director brings to the company eleven years of experience in South African based marketing, events and promotions. During this period she gained vast experience in corporate promotions and event co-ordination. Her portfolio covered aspects such as company and product launches event management and also travel industry related co-ordination tasks such as working with African Odyssey Expeditions organising trips for international delegates. These trips ranged from honeymoon celebrations to business people wanting to experience the diversity that Africa has to offer.
Noreen has not only travelled South Africa extensively but is also well versed in areas such as Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Mozambique to name a few. Noreen's attention to detail is impeccable and she always ensures that no stone remains unturned in order to keep her clients content. In her years as events manager, she has built up a formidable portfolio of venues and suppliers which she has brought to Timeless Weddings Company, thus enabling her to source the best deals and the finest suppliers for her clients.
It seemed like a natural progression for Noreen to go into partnership with Karen utilising all her skills in one unique portfolio - thus Timeless Weddings Company was created in Southern Africa in 2002.
The other South African Team members are: Colleen Willis
She is based in the Cape Province and will provide Timeless Weddings Cape clients with total care and attention. Colleen has an intimate knowledge of the Cape region having resided there for many years, and will definitely be able to point out the "lesser" know jewels of the area.
Having run her own successful business for a number of years now, she has accumulated excellent design and co-ordination experience, and is renowned for her cool and calm manner in stressful situations - thus ensuring that you will be able to sit back, relax and let her take care of every small detail!
