Melissa and Lavelle elope to the African bush

When Lavelle and Melissa decided to tie the knot, they both agreed that they wanted to elope and have a romantic ceremony with just the two of them present.  Having searched the internet to determine which far away land was going to be their dream destination they came across Timeless Weddings and on discussions with Noreen decided that a ceremony in the African bush was just what they were looking for.  This was going to be a wedding very different to anything that they could have back home in the USA.  Discussions started on locations and after coming highly recommended by Noreen, they settled on Leopard Mountain Lodge as their selected venue.

Noreen and Ros travelled up early in the morning and on arrival preparations started with Melissa, while Lavelle got the morning to relax on the patio with his book and the odd wild animal for company.  Even though the wedding was just an intimate celebration for two, the couple certainly still ensured that they looked stunning on the day, and both dressed in full wedding attire.  Melissa’s dress had beautiful detail and she really looked the part of the African princess.

The couple opted for a white draped gazebo to be set up in the bush – bringing in a bit of a traditional feel to a very relaxed and beautiful setting.  Unfortunately the weather did not play along and being January we experienced a typical African storm in the afternoon.  Luckily it did not last long and soon passed, after which Debbie and Derek were able to continue with the creative shoot in the bush – albeit a bit muddy!

The bride chose a colour scheme of pink, red and white and wanted her bouquet to be a selection of roses and carnations.  It came together beautifullly and the flowers certainly made a statement alongside the green of the bush.  After the ceremony and the photo shoot the couple cut their wedding cake …. with a view that could not be matched by many cake cutting ceremonies!  The champagne was opened and toasts were done – thereafter the couple were served their private dinner in the gorgeous and oh so romantic boma especially for the happy couple!

All the best to Lavelle and Melissa – we are looking forward for the return trip to renew the vows on your 10th anniversary!
