Theresa and Johnny elope to Cape Town
Have you ever dreamed about eloping somewhere romantic? Theresa and Johnny both from Oregon in the United States of America, yearned for something adventurous and completely different when they decided to elope instead of having the traditional wedding.
Having spent much time researching destination weddings across the globe on the internet, they finally settled on the African continent, and narrowed the search down to South Africa and more especially Cape Town, as it seemed to call to their souls!
After finding Timeless Weddings Company on the internet and sending out an enquiry they decided to engage our services as the logistics of organising their elope to Cape Town from the United States proved very daunting, and so the planning began…
Their dream wedding in Cape Town consisted of getting married in the late afternoon, with the couple perched on two bar stools in front of the marriage official, in an upmarket venue with magnificent views, whilst sipping on celebratory bubbles.
The venue selected was Blakes Bar – a more perfect setting would be hard to find and it fitted their brief to perfection. The venue had a unique ambience with the superb views of the city and Table Mountain from the balcony, exactly what this fun loving couple were dreaming about.
The bar stools were place in front of the best views, Skype was set up to connect to all their family back home and the champagne cork was popped! Theresa and Johnny also incorporated a sand ceremony in their proceedings, for which the sand was brought from home all the way to South Africa.
Candice Leigh ensured that Theresa had the exact hair and make-up look that she was had requested despite the fact that there had been no time for a trial run beforehand. Theresa was thrilled with the lovely fresh look that Candice created for her.
The bridal couple were chauffeured on the day, by Roger from Classic Tours, in a beautiful 1941 White Cadillac Sedan creating much interest from locals along the route with the grandeur of the vehicle.
When it came to selecting the photographer, Joe Dryer seemed like a natural choice – he loves couples with a sense of fun and adventure and he captured their wedding faultlessly.
Theresa and Johnny wanted to keep the day simple yet fun, capturing the day with memorable photographs and finishing everything off with a delicious dinner – this was all achieved to their satisfaction. After the wedding in Cape Town they had the most amazing honeymoon through Southern Africa and I am sure will return to experience more of what our beautiful country has to offer.
Wishing you all the very best – we are confident that if you take on marriage with the same sense of fun and adventure that you did your wedding day, it can only be sucessful!
